There is no summer break when it comes to fighting for the education of our kids. Stand with parents, students and community leaders from around the country and make your voice heard on Capitol Hill. Communities for Excellent Public Schools (CEPS) is a coalition of community-based organizations from around the country that represent parents and students in low-income communities. The Obama Adminstration has released its Blue Print for Reform (http://www2.ed.gov/policy/elsec/leg/blueprint/index.html). and Congress is working on reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) commonly known as No Child Left Behind. CEPS is organized to make sure that parents, students and communities have a voice in the public debate about reauthorization of ESEA and federal policies that affect our children and schools.

Space for this event is limited. Acceptances ONLY, on a "first-come" basis, with subject line "RSVP: July 28 Launch Event" to informationceps@gmail.com or contact Cedric Ricks at (202) 587-1654. RSVP by Monday, July 26, 2010.
