  • Teacher Quality

The Statewide Education Organizing Committee (SEOC) is comprised public school parents and community leaders from urban and low-income school districts who have come together to work and fight for improvements in the education system. SEOC was formed because the state has not fully implemented the promises made to public school children under the Abbott v. Burke court decisions. They currently have four chapters (in Newark, Jersey City, Paterson and Asbury Park), three of which receive CPER support.

CPER Funded Project

SEOC and its affiliates' CPER-funded work includes:

  • Ensuring the full implementation of supplemental services to students and families;
  • Implementing equitable school funding; and
  • Re-starting the NJ school construction program.
