SEOC Affiliate - Parents and Communities for Education

Parents and Communities United for Education (PCUE) is an affiliate of the Statewide Education Organizing Committee (SEOC), which is comprised of public school parents and community leaders from urban and low-income school districts who have come together to work and fight for improvements in the education system.

CPER Funded Project

PCUE's CPER funded work includes:

  • Conducting organizing campaigns in individual Jersey City schools in order to improve school facilities, parent participation in school-based decision making, and/or the availability of supplemental programs;
  • Building a base of parents who participate in state-level campaigns on school funding, new school construction, the provision of supplemental programs and teacher quality; and
  • Participating in joint organizing/advocacy planning and strategizing with other organizing and advocacy partners.
