SEOC Affiliate - One Newark Education Coalition

One Newark Education Coalition (ONEC) is the Newark chapter of the Statewide Education Organizing Committee (SEOC), which is comprised of public school parents and community leaders from urban and low-income school districts who have come together to work and fight for improvements in the education system.

CPER Funded Project

ONEC's CPER funded work includes:

  • Building a base of parents who participate in local and state-level campaigns on school funding, new school construction, the provision of supplemental programs and teacher quality;
  • Increasing awareness and support for these issues among Newark public school parents, teachers, administrators, elected officials and local allies; and
  • Participating in joint organizing/advocacy planning and strategizing with other organizing and advocacy partners.
