One Newark Education Coalition (ONEC) is the Newark chapter of the Statewide Education Organizing Committee (SEOC), which is comprised of public school parents and community leaders from urban and low-income school districts who have come together to work and fight for improvements in the education system.
CPER Funded Project
ONEC's CPER funded work includes:
- Building a base of parents who participate in local and state-level campaigns on school funding, new school construction, the provision of supplemental programs and teacher quality;
- Increasing awareness and support for these issues among Newark public school parents, teachers, administrators, elected officials and local allies; and
- Participating in joint organizing/advocacy planning and strategizing with other organizing and advocacy partners.
