Steering Committee

CPER’s National Steering Committee is comprised of one representative from the Fund’s nine national funders and one local funder from each of the Fund’s four sites, which helps set policies to inform the work of local funders with a national perspective while simultaneously infusing the grantmaking of national funders with an understanding of local context. Students from the Philadelphia’s Youth United for Change embarked on a photo project sponsored by Good Schools Pennsylvania and the Education Law Center entitled “Critical Exposure: Eyes on Education.” Student photographer Chaunae Berry, a 10th grade student at Olney East High School, captures how she and her peers feel trapped in classrooms, as if school were jail. The "Critical Exposure" photo reveals the challenges and inequities students faced every day at some of Philadelphia’s most underprivileged schools.
